Tara Ford, Psy.D.

Dr. Tara Ford is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience working with neurodiverse individuals and families in private practice and school settings. She completed her training at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles where she learned assessment and treatment of infants and children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and post traumatic brain injury as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.

Simultaneously, she began providing psychoeducational assessments to preschool aged children who were entering the local school district and helped shape assessment protocol for Autism. She obtained her school psychology credential and served a local school district for over 20 years providing psychoeducational assessments, functional behavior assessments, individual and group psychotherapy, social skills training, teacher consultation and individual education plan (IEP)development.

Dr. Ford is most passionate about her work with neurodivergent children, adolescents and young adults. She believes that with neurodiversity comes a unique set of skills and gifts that can be used to enhance one’s life. She is devoted to focusing on the strengths of her clients to help them thrive in both worlds of neurodiversity and neurotypicality.
